Sorry for the late update. Fun got in the way.

Well, no major upset in Day 6.
- Dinara Safina was the only semi-upset in Day 6. I really didn’t expect her to go far so no surprise there. She lost to Shahar Peer 6-8 in the 3rd.
- Jelena Jankovic was pushed and almost followed her fellow top seeds out the door but unlike her fellow top seeds, she actually wanted to win and finally got it 6-2 in the 3rd over Caroline Wozniacki.
- The other top seeds; Rafael Nadal, Venus Williams, Elena Dementieva and Richard Gasquet are all through to the R16.
- Maria Sharapova and Andy Roddick conquerors, Alla Kudryavtseva and Janko Tipsarevic are also through to the R16.
- QF pick, Paul-Henri Mathieu, lost his 3rd round match against Marin Cilic in 4 sets.

Will these upsets ever stop? At this rate, I’m guessing–NO with a capital OH!
- Following Maria Sharapova and Andy Roddick’s surprise upsets yesterday, Ana Ivanovic, world No.1 was beaten by world No. 133, Jie Zheng in straight sets.
- QF pick, David Ferrer was also upset losing to Mario Ancic in 4 sets. Although Mario has a better record on grass, David is higher ranked and just came off a win at ‘s-Hertogenbosch where he beat Mario in the quarterfinals.
- Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Lleyton Hewitt and Svetlana Kuznetsova are all through to the R16.
- Movers and Shakers pick, Agnieszka Radwanska, is also through to the R16 matching her best showing here in 2006.
- Marat Safin, Novak Djokovic’s conqueror, won his 3rd round match today against Andreas Seppi and will face rising Swiss, Stanislas Warwinka in the R16.
- Nicole Vaidisova has found some form-finally!-and is through to the R16.

I wonder who will be upset tomorrow. This is exciting stuff! But I hope we don’t get crappy finals in the end.

Upset after upset after upset. Wow. That’s the tale of the day.
- Maria Sharapova and Andy Roddick crashed out of the tournament in their 2nd round matches following Novak Djokovic out the door. Maria lost to fellow Russian, Alla Kudryavtseva and Andy lost to rising Serbian, Janko Tipsarevic.
- Rafael Nadal, Elena Dementieva and Venus Williams were pushed, again, but were able to get through in the end. Hopefully their next round matches will be a little easier.
- Andy Murray, Jelena Jankovic, Dinara Safina and Richard Gasquet cruised in their respective matches.
- QF pick, Paul-Henri Mathieu, was pushed by Shakers and Movers pick, Jeremy Chardy, in their 2nd round match but clinched the win at 7-6 in the third.
- Daniela Hantuchova still has not found her form and was also upset today in 3 sets by Alisa Kleybanova.

OH WOW. Another early round upset following Novak Djokovic yesterday. One of my favorite players in the whole world and odds makers’ pick to hold up that trophy next Sunday, Maria Sharapova, stunned at Wimbedon in her 2nd round match against the No.154 player in the world. Alla Kudryavtseva needed only an hour and half to dismantle a seemingly off Maria 6-2 6-4. WOW. I really hope Maria is not having any problems with that shoulder because she adjusted it a couple of times during the match. Good luck to Alla! And I hope Maria bounces back fast from back to back disappointing results at a Grand Slam.
I love you, Mash.

- The surging Serbians did not look too convincing in their 2nd round matches today. Novak Djokovic fell to a rejuvenated Marat Safin in straight sets and Ana Ivanovic stutter stepped her way against Nathalie Dechy. She had to fight off 2 match points and battled in the 3rd set before finally getting the W at 10-8.
- QF picks; Svetlana Kuznetsova, Serena Williams and Anna Chakvetadze all cruised in their matches.
- Roger Federer, David Ferrer, Lleyton Hewitt and Elena Dementieva faced a bit of struggle but are through to the next round.
- A surprise win-and a badly needed one-Nicole Vaidisova over Samantha Stosur. Nicole needs to focus a bit more if she plans to go deeper in this tournament. She won’t get away with that kind of 2nd set showing against the big guns.
